How To Make A Soft Top More Quiet

If the noise experienced when driving your Jeep Wrangler with a soft top is getting on your nerves, you may want to consider using one of the strategies below to help quite your soft top a bit.

Method 1 – Add Tension to the Soft Top

The first method I have to share with you is the cheaper option but works fairly well. One way to limit the amount of noise produced by your soft top is to add tension to the top. The easiest way to do this is to stuff t-shirts above the sound bar. This will keep the top from smacking against the top of the sound bar and making unpleasant noises. This method is a little sketchy but is effective. I usually use this method whenever I plan on driving on the highway for an extended period of time.

Method 2 – Get a New Soft Top

Another method you can use is definitely the most costly of these methods but is effective. Basically you can just buy a newer top that is quieter. Newer soft tops for Jeep Wranglers are designed to add more tension to the top. This results in a quieter ride. These tops can cost upwards of $500.

If you are looking for a quick or cheap fix, try stuffing towels or t-shirts between the sound bar and the top. Comment below if you know of any other ways to make your soft top more quiet.
