How Many Miles Per Gallon Does a Jeep Wrangler JK Actually Get?

What is The MPG Rating for a Jeep Wrangler JK?

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the last vehicles you will find in the garage of an eco freak. According to the Jeep website the Jeep Wrangler gets about 17MPG city and 21MPG highway. Of course these numbers can be skewed when modifications are made to a vehicle. These values are only true to stock Jeep Wranglers. I have driven my Jeep Wrangler JK for quite some time now and have found that the MPG ratings on the Jeep website are fairly accurate, although in the city I usually only get about 16MPG and only achieve 20MPG on the highway. For an SUVesque vehicle these numbers are fairly common. I wouldn’t say a Wrangler JK is a complete gas guzzler but at the same time it is not nearly as efficient as say a new Hyundai Sante Fe.

Special Cases

Different Modifications made to your Wrangler such as lift kits or 35inch tires can affect the fuel efficiency of your Jeep Wrangler so the numbers above may not apply to all Jeep Wranglers.
